Nghe rồi, nhiều môn đệ của Người liền nói: “Lời này chướng tai quá! Ai mà nghe nổi?”
Viele seiner Jünger, die ihm zuhörten, sagten: Was er sagt, ist unerträglich. Wer kann das anhören?
Then, hearing this, a number of his disciples said, This is a hard saying; who is able to take in such teaching?
Nhưng Đức Giê-su tự mình biết được là các môn đệ đang xầm xì về vấn đề ấy, Người bảo các ông: “Điều đó, anh em lấy làm chướng, không chấp nhận được ư?
Jesus erkannte, dass seine Jünger darüber murrten, und fragte sie: Daran nehmt ihr Anstoß?
When Jesus became conscious that his disciples were protesting about what he said, he said to them, Does this give you trouble?
Vậy nếu anh em thấy Con Người lên nơi đã ở trước kia thì sao?
Was werdet ihr sagen, wenn ihr den Menschensohn hinaufsteigen seht, dorthin, wo er vorher war?
What then will you say if you see the Son of man going up to where he was before?
Thần khí mới làm cho sống, chứ xác thịt chẳng có ích gì. Lời Thầy nói với anh em là thần khí và là sự sống.
Der Geist ist es, der lebendig macht; das Fleisch nützt nichts. Die Worte, die ich zu euch gesprochen habe, sind Geist und sind Leben.
The spirit is the life giver; the flesh is of no value: the words which I have said to you are spirit and they are life.
Nhưng trong anh em có những kẻ không tin.” Quả thật, ngay từ đầu, Đức Giê-su đã biết những kẻ nào không tin, và kẻ nào sẽ nộp Người.
Aber es gibt unter euch einige, die nicht glauben. Jesus wusste nämlich von Anfang an, welche es waren, die nicht glaubten, und wer ihn verraten würde.
But still some of you have no faith. For it was clear to Jesus from the first who they were who had no faith, and who it was who would be false to him.
Người nói tiếp: “Vì thế, Thầy đã bảo anh em: không ai đến với Thầy được, nếu Chúa Cha không ban ơn ấy cho.”
Und er sagte: Deshalb habe ich zu euch gesagt: Niemand kann zu mir kommen, wenn es ihm nicht vom Vater gegeben ist.
And he said, This is why I said to you, No man is able to come to me if he is not given the power to do so by the Father.
Từ lúc đó, nhiều môn đệ rút lui, không còn đi theo Người nữa.
Daraufhin zogen sich viele Jünger zurück und wanderten nicht mehr mit ihm umher.
Because of what he said, a number of the disciples went back and would no longer go with him.
Vậy Đức Giê-su hỏi Nhóm Mười Hai: “Cả anh em nữa, anh em cũng muốn bỏ đi hay sao?”
Da fragte Jesus die Zwölf: Wollt auch ihr weggehen?
So Jesus said to the twelve, Have you a desire to go away?
Ông Si-môn Phê-rô liền đáp: “Thưa Thầy, bỏ Thầy thì chúng con biết đến với ai? Thầy mới có những lời đem lại sự sống đời đời.
Simon Petrus antwortete ihm: Herr, zu wem sollen wir gehen? Du hast Worte des ewigen Lebens.
Then Simon Peter gave this answer: Lord, to whom are we to go? you have the words of eternal life;
Phần chúng con, chúng con đã tin và nhận biết rằng chính Thầy là Đấng Thánh của Thiên Chúa.”
Wir sind zum Glauben gekommen und haben erkannt: Du bist der Heilige Gottes.
And we have faith and are certain that you are the Holy One of God.
